Innovators

 In our reading group, our learning has focused on innovators and inventors.

An innovator makes methods, ideas or products for inventors.

Kids can be inventors too. I found out that 

Payton Wonders is a kid inventor and she invented nappy with pockets.

I would like to invent a never miss basketball hoop, because basketball players will never miss a shot and everybody will want to play.

Underwater kingdom

 An interesting thing about Great White Sharks is they have 300 teeth and never run out.

There are 6 species of penguins them in New Zealand.

Marine Reserves are important because turtles live there and the thing that is killing them is plastic.

I think the Lost City of Atlantis is shake because wouldn't have rotted buy now.

Athletics

 Last week we did athletics and Olympics day because the Olympics was this year.

I really enjoyed fun games afterwards because in the sack race me and Mason got 12 runs and then in the three legged race me and Mason were fast as.

Something that was a bit tricky was the throw and the long jump because I was really bad at it for some reason and I didn't do any training before that so I think that's the reason why I didn't come 1st 2nd or 3rd.

I am really proud of how much I did even though I didn't train because I thought I was going to do the best and it turned out to be my p.w - personal worst, even though I didn't train.

MOA SLIDES

This week we were learning about Moa and I said I would agree that Moa should come back because just imagine walking past the Moa and then you get frightened. We will also allow learning about the Moa. In the book there is a link on the slides that you can go onto and you can read all the articles, that is why we posted on our blogs so you can keep up with our learning.

Baking

 This week in Maths, we have been focusing on measurement.

I really enjoyed eating the baking I made.

Something that was a bit tricky was getting the right measurement.

I am really looking forward to making the ginger bread men.

My Holiday Trip

At 4:00 o'clock in the morning, my timer went off, so I woke my mum up because we had to catch a flight to Auckland then to Christchurch. We had to wait in Christchurch for while so me and my mum June walked to the Antarctic Centre. First we went to the snow dorm, it snowed -it was -25 degrees! Then we went to this 4D movie. After that, we went to pat the huskies  and by then we had to go back to the airport to fly to Invercargill and drive to Curio Bay to my Granny and Grandad's place.

The first three days were boring but on the last day we went for a swim and I had just my togs on - IT WAS FREEZING COLD!!! Then we went to the airport but our flight was cancelled so we drove to Queenstown and caught a flight out.

On Friday we went to Farmers Air to talk about careers.

My dad owns Farmers Air .

He told us about all the different jobs at Farmers Air.

He told and show us how to fly a plane.

We had morning tea and then dad did a demonstration in the beaver of what they do.

It was a great day.

The Best Birthday Ever

On my birthday we flew in my Dad's 185 plane to the Boyd in the Kaimanawa Ranges.

After hunting we tried to go to Ruahine Corner but it was too much cloud to get through so we went to Taupo to watch some skydivers. Then we went to try and have lunch but they were closed so we had lunch in Gisborne at McDonald's.

Mother Day Poem

This is my poem about my mum because Mother's Day is on Sunday.❤

On Friday we had a celebration and all the mum's come in but my 

mum didn't come in because she was doing a race.

I joined in with my friend's mum to play games like Twister and Headbands.

How have you been kind this week?when lyirk got hit in the face with a ball I help him up and when liam m fall over I help him to get to the first aid room and I brought his scooter up so people did not run over his scooter.

What questions have you asked this week? I asked the teacher how many minutes we had to do on maths whizz and how many quick writes we had to do an handwriting and she said two quick writes and two handwriting and two and 75 minutes on maths whizz.

What is one thing that you have learned this week?3+58-40 makes 21 and learnt some new words and writing a quick write.

What was your favourite mistake this week? writing a quick write I put a hand writing in middle  of the quick write.

How can you make next week great? by not siting by my friend and getting my work finsh so I can have fun on Friday.
